Thirteen-year-old Lauretta’s promotion to fifth grade was a testament to her dedication. Her teacher praised her kindness and helpfulness in class. Outside of school, she cares for her grandmother by cooking and fetching water from a nearby well. She also helps to support her family by selling candy in her free time. Lauretta was promoted to the 4th grade! Thanks to the generous donation from Leslie Orosz, Lauretta has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year. She is 12 years old and her favorite subjects is math and reading. During her free time she spends a lot of time helping her grandmother. She still wants to be a doctor when she grows up and continues to live with her grandmother.

Her teacher reports she’s a good student, likes to answer questions, and participates often. She still wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She continues to live with her grandmother.

Lauretta is now in the 2nd grade and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. She is 10 years old and enjoys school a lot. Her favorite subject is reading. She still wants to be a doctor when she grows up. With less than 500 doctors serving a population of 4.5 million people, Liberian households often experience fatalities due to treatable illnesses. Children aspiring to become doctors is a worthy cause. Thanks to the generous donation from The Big Valley Ranch for supporting Lauretta’s hopes and dreams.

Meet Lauretta, who has been generously sponsored by The Big Valley Ranch. She is 9 years old and is in the 1st grade this year. Lauretta is an orphan who lives in Seclepea, Liberia with her grandmother. She lost both of her parents during the Ebola Epidemic. Her interests are reading and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up. Lauretta told our GPA representative during her interview “I want to find Ebola medicine so my grandma will not die from Ebola”.
