January 2024: Forty-one-year-old Annie barters her services out as a laborer on other people’s farms so she can provide for her family’s basic needs.  Her husband was injured while working as a laborer in a gold mine.  He can no longer do farming or other work.  Annie requested a farming supplies package from GPA so she can do her own farm.  With additional tools, she can barter with other farmers for their services by selectively lending her tools out to those who cannot afford to acquire additional ones for themselves.
