January 2024: Betty is a forty-eight-year-old single mother raising eight children through subsistence farming.  Betty is proud of the fact that her two youngest children are in high school, and she desires to earn enough money to sustain their enrollment.  Breaking the barrier of generational poverty is the hope for many subsistence farming families and Lucy works hard and smart to fully support her children.  She was supported with a farming supplies package to expand her farming efforts and earn more income.
