Patience has been promoted to fourth grade, a testament to her resilience and determination, especially after recovering from the accident. At 14 years old, she finds joy in cooking and sharing her knowledge with her mother, often teaching her lessons she’s learned in school. When we arrived at her campus, Patience was recovering from a recent motorbike accident. On her way to school, she was hit by a transport motorbike. Motorbikes are the main mode of transport for rural areas and regrettably, many are driven by inexperienced, reckless drivers. The good news is that she was promoted to the 3rd grade class. But her classroom performance was not too good due to the motorcycle accident. Patience is looking forward to the upcoming school year. Sponsored by: Phil Vasby

Thanks to the generous donation from Phil Vasby, Patience has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Patience was kept in her current grade level of 2nd grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

Meet Patience, who has been generously sponsored by an Anonymous donor (Mohamad). She is 11 years old and in the 2nd grade this year. She lives in Kialay, Liberia with her mother. Her father just up and disappeared one day and they don’t know where he could be. Her interests are saving lives and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.
