MARIE: S88-SOP

October 2022

2022

Marie was promoted to the 2nd grade and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year. She looked happy, healthy, and strong during our interview. Her favorite subject is science and her teacher reports she’s doing great in school. At home, she is a big help to her mother with assisting with her siblings and household chores. She still wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Sponsored by: Dennis and Claudia Naidl

Thanks to the generous donation from Dennis & Claudia Naidl, Marie has been re-enrolled into school for the 2019/2020 school year.  (Please note: Marie was unable to attend the back-to-school distribution as she was in the “society bush” for FGM.  However, her school materials were left with the school to be given to her upon her return).

June 2019

We are pleased to announce that Marie was promoted to K-2 for the 2018/2019 school year. Dennis & Claudia Naidl, thank you for your sponsorship and giving your student a gift of education.

Meet Marie, who has been generously sponsored by Ali Hall. She is 9 years old and is going to school for the first time this year. Marie lives in Sopea Town, Liberia with her mother. About 4 years ago Marie’s father, who was the only bread winner in the family, walked out on the family leaving his wife with 6 children. Not long after he left, two of the children died from malaria. Unfortunately, the mom is unemployed and couldn’t afford to send Marie and her siblings to school. Her interests are helping her mom and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
