Fifteen-year-old Irene celebrated a significant achievement as she was promoted to the fifth grade, a testament to her dedication to education. Residing with her aunt, Irene finds solace and guidance in her familial support system. With a deep-rooted passion for Bible Studies, she immerses herself in the teachings of faith, nurturing her dream of one day becoming a pastor. Beyond the classroom, Irene’s love for her siblings knows no bounds, as she assumes the role of their protector, fiercely guarding their well-being. To support her family, Irene takes on the responsibility of selling candy along the bustling streets, determined to contribute to their livelihood. Despite the challenges she faces, Irene’s unwavering faith and resilience shine brightly, guiding her towards a future filled with purpose and compassion.

Irene has been promoted to fourth grade!  Her favorite subject is reading and she enjoys going to school each day. Her teachers report she’s been performing very well. Meet Irene, who has been generously sponsored by Stacy Peters. She is a 10 year old orphan and is in the 1st grade this year.  Irene lives in Sopea Town, Liberia with her aunt. Six years ago, both of her parents passed away due to a brief illness – leaving behind Irene and her 3 siblings. Her interests are helping her brothers and sisters and she hopes to be a Pastor when she grows up.
