We are pleased to announce that Gifty received double promotion and was promoted from 3rd grade to 5th grade for the 2018/2019 school year! With less than 500 doctors serving a population of 4.5 million people, Liberian households often experience fatalities due to treatable illnesses. Children aspiring to become doctors is a worthy cause. Kimberly O’Donnell, thank you for your sponsorship and giving your student a gift of education through Girl Power Africa.

Meet Gifty, who has been generously sponsored by Kimberly O’Donnell. She is 11 years old and in the 3rd grade this year. Gifty lives in Seclepea , Liberia with her grandmother. Both of Gifty’s parents died from the Ebola virus in 2014 when the virus hit their household. She and her 2 siblings are being raised by their unemployed grandmother who is struggling to feed them and send them to school on a regular basis. Her interests are helping her grandmother and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up. Gifty told Girl Power “I wan to learn medicine so no one will die from Ebola.”
