Serena

Serena Goah is a 30 year old mother of two. Serena graduated from high school a few years ago. Since graduation, sshe has not been able to find a job to support herself and her children. Serena and her children moved to a new neighborhood about a year ago in search of a better life. Serena told Girl Power that, for survival, she buys 4-5 cups of pop corn daily and pops it, bags it and then sells them by walking to the various neighboring schools, where she sells the bagged popcorn to the students during their recess.

From the sale of the popcorn, Serena makes about 100 LD ($1.00 to you and me) profit. This is the money she uses to purchase more popcorn to pop and to feel her family for the day.

Thanks to a generous donation from Monica E, Serena will now be able to start her very own business in the newly constructed Girl Power Market.

These are pictures of Serena and her children receiving their new supply of selling goods to successfully start her new business. Thank you, Monica, for your generosity and for helping to make our world a little better, one girl at a time. God bless you!
